Heritage Branded Maties (Maroon Sole)

Our maroon soled Veldskoen shoe pays homage to one of South Africa’s oldest educational institutions, the Stellenbosch University.

The Matie is the nickname for students of Stellenbosch University which came from the Afrikaans colloquialism maat (mate or friend), originally used by the students of the University of Cape Town’s precursor, the South African College.

This branded version of the shoe is especially for SU alumni to wear their proud hearts on their sleeves and their alma mater on their ankles.
