SHIPPING POLICY
At Veldskoen, we ship orders from Cape Town, South Africa, to customers within South Africa and to selected international destinations. Our shipping options, costs and delivery estimates are shown at checkout and are based on your address, the courier service available for your area and our current shipping network. These details can change without prior notice, so the information shown at checkout should always be treated as the most accurate and up-to-date reference.
Fulfilment Times
Please note the difference between fulfilment time and shipping time. Fulfilment is the time it takes us to pick, pack and hand your order to the courier, and our standard fulfilment lead time is the next business day. This means that if you place an order today, it will normally be processed on the next business day before courier transit time begins. Shipping time only starts once the parcel has been handed over to the courier.
Business days do not include weekends or public holidays. During busy periods such as launches, promotions and peak trading seasons, fulfilment may take slightly longer than usual. We always aim to dispatch as quickly as possible, but courier collection and transit times are outside our direct control once the parcel has left our warehouse.
National Shipping (Across South Africa)
For delivery within South Africa, we offer standard and express shipping options, and parcel locker delivery. The exact cost and estimated delivery time depend on your delivery area, because courier routes, service levels and access to remote locations can all affect what is available. The most accurate shipping methods and delivery estimates will always be shown at checkout for your address.
Standard shipping is the more economical option and is generally suited to customers who are happy to wait a little longer for delivery. Express shipping is designed for faster delivery and is usually priced at a premium. While we work closely with our courier partners to keep delivery times reliable, all national delivery estimates remain estimates only and can be affected by courier delays, weather, public holidays, remote destinations or other factors outside our control.
If you need your order urgently, please check the express option shown at checkout before placing your order. If your area does not qualify for a particular service, that option may not appear at checkout. Where available, the checkout will always reflect the best live information for your delivery address.
International Shipping
We ship internationally to selected countries using a courier network designed to balance speed, cost and reliability. International shipping timeframes shown at checkout should be treated as estimates rather than guarantees. In general, faster international services are prioritised for speed, while more economical options may take longer and can involve consolidation before dispatch.
For economy shipping, parcels are consolidated on Tuesdays and shipped on Thursdays. This can mean that the parcel may move through the network more slowly than an express service, and total transit time may be around 10 to 14 business days or more depending on the destination, customs processing and local delivery conditions. Faster international services are usually processed more directly, but they can still be affected by customs inspections, import checks, local courier performance, public holidays and routing delays.
Customs rules vary by country, and delays can occur if extra documentation, payment or inspection is required. Tracking may also pause for periods while a parcel is in customs or moving between international checkpoints, which is normal for cross-border shipping.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are calculated according to your delivery address, the service selected and the rates available through our courier partners at the time of purchase. Shipping rates can change as courier rates, fuel surcharges, service coverage and operational requirements change. The price shown at checkout is the correct shipping cost for your order at that time.
Any delivery estimate shown at checkout is based on the shipping service available for your address and the current courier network. These estimates may differ from one area to another and may change from time to time without notice. If a courier service becomes unavailable or is adjusted for your location, the options shown at checkout will reflect the current situation.
Address Changes
Please make sure your delivery address is correct before placing your order. Once an order has been placed, we may not be able to change the address before fulfilment begins. If you request an address change after the order has been processed or handed to the courier, the change may create extra courier charges or delays, and any additional costs will be for your account.
If a parcel is returned, delayed or requires a second delivery attempt because the address details were incomplete, incorrect or changed after shipment, any additional shipping costs will be the customer’s responsibility. If a parcel is already in transit, we strongly recommend contacting us as soon as possible so we can advise on the options available.
Failed Deliveries & Returns
If delivery cannot be completed because no one is available at the address, because the address is inaccessible, or because the parcel is refused, the courier may charge for re-delivery, return or redirection. Where these costs are incurred, they may be passed on to the customer. Shipping charges are also not refundable where an order has already been shipped, except where required by law or where we explicitly agree otherwise.
We recommend that customers provide a daytime delivery address whenever possible and check tracking updates regularly. This helps reduce the chance of missed deliveries and unnecessary delays.
Special Trading Periods
During major promotional events, sale periods and peak seasons, shipping and fulfilment may take longer than usual. In some cases, expedited shipping may not be available or may be limited during high-volume trading periods. Any temporary changes to delivery timeframes or service availability will be reflected at checkout or communicated on-site where relevant.
