Shipping policy

At Veldskoen, we ship orders from Cape Town, South Africa, to customers across South Africa and to selected countries around the world. Your shipping options, costs and delivery estimates are always shown at checkout, based on your address and the courier services available in your area. These details can change without notice, so what you see at checkout is always the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Fulfilment Times

There is a difference between fulfilment time and shipping time. Fulfilment is the time it takes us to pick, pack and hand your order to the courier. Our standard fulfilment time is the next business day. Shipping time only starts once the parcel has been handed to the courier.

Business days do not include weekends or public holidays. During busy periods such as launches, promotions and peak season, fulfilment may take a little longer. We always aim to dispatch as quickly as possible, but once a parcel leaves our warehouse, courier collection and transit times are outside our control.

National Shipping (Across South Africa)

Within South Africa we offer door-to-door delivery as well as collection point delivery. Your options and prices depend on your area, because courier routes, service levels and access to remote areas differ from place to place. The options shown at checkout are the ones available for your address.

Standard delivery is the more affordable option and suits customers who are happy to wait a little longer.

Express delivery is faster and usually costs more. If you need your order urgently, please check whether express is available for your address before you place your order.

BobBox and Pargo collection points are available through our shipping partner, Bob Go. Your parcel is delivered to a locker or a pickup point near you, and you collect it.

Collecting from BobBox or Pargo

You have three business days to collect your parcel once it arrives at the BobBox locker or Pargo point. You will be notified when your parcel is ready.

If your parcel is not collected within three business days, it is automatically returned to Veldskoen. We will then need to arrange a new delivery, and the cost of that second delivery will be for your account. Please collect your parcel as soon as you can so that we can avoid this.

Farms, Small Towns and Outlying Areas

Many of our customers live on farms or in areas that are difficult for couriers to reach. This is a known challenge, and our courier partners keep improving in this area, but there is a lot you can do to help your delivery arrive successfully.

When you place your order, please:

  • Check that your address details are complete and correct.
  • Use the delivery notes to give clear directions, such as landmarks, gate numbers, farm names or road descriptions.
  • Ask the courier to phone ahead if your gate is far from the house or if someone needs to open up.
  • Give us a contact number that will be answered during the day.

The more information the courier has, the better your chances of a successful first delivery. If you know your address is difficult to reach, or if deliveries to you often fail, we strongly recommend choosing BobBox or Pargo collection instead. It is usually the most reliable option in outlying areas.

International Shipping

We ship to selected countries worldwide through our international logistics partner. Delivery timeframes shown at checkout are estimates, not guarantees. Faster services are prioritised for speed, while more affordable services may take longer and can involve consolidation before dispatch.

For economy shipping, parcels are consolidated on Tuesdays and shipped on Thursdays. This means the parcel moves through the network more slowly than an express service, and total transit time is usually around 10 to 14 business days or more, depending on the destination, customs and local delivery conditions. Faster services are processed more directly, but can still be affected by customs inspections, import checks, local courier performance, public holidays and routing delays.

Customs rules differ from country to country, and delays can happen if extra documents, payment or an inspection are needed. Tracking may also pause while a parcel sits in customs or moves between international checkpoints. This is normal for cross-border shipping.

Our international couriers deliver on business days only. They do not deliver over weekends or on public holidays, and public holidays in the destination country will pause a parcel as well. All international delivery estimates are given in business days for this reason, so please allow for weekends and holidays when you work out when your order should arrive.

Please note that we do not require a signature on delivery for international orders.

Live Rates, Duties and Taxes

Our international prices are shown excluding shipping, duties and taxes. When you check out, you will see the price of your products, and then shipping, duties, taxes and insurance listed as separate line items. This means you can see exactly what you are paying for.

Shipping rates are calculated live at checkout by our courier partners, based on your address, the weight of your parcel and the service you choose. Some services are only available for certain order values, so the options you see may differ from one order to the next.

For most destinations, duties and taxes are paid upfront at checkout. Your parcel is delivered without anything further to pay. Nothing extra will be charged to you on arrival.

For a small number of destinations, including Australia and New Zealand, duties and taxes are payable on delivery. In these cases, the amount is charged by your local customs authority or courier, and the parcel is only released once it is paid. What you see at checkout for these countries covers shipping only. If you are unsure how your country is handled, please email us before you order.

Orders to the European Union

On 1 July 2026 the EU removed its €150 duty-free threshold. Before this change, orders under €150 entered the EU without any import duty. That exemption no longer exists, and every parcel entering the EU now attracts duty, no matter how small the order.

For orders under €150, the EU charges a flat €3 in duty for each different type of item in the parcel. Item types are grouped by customs code and country of origin, so a parcel containing two different types of product attracts €6, and so on. Orders over €150 are treated as before, with normal percentage-based duties applied.

Because we ship to the EU with duties and taxes paid upfront, this charge is already included in the total you see at checkout. There is nothing extra to pay when your parcel arrives.

Insurance on International Orders

All international orders are insured. The insurance fee is calculated as 1.5% of your order value plus the shipping cost, and it is shown as a separate line item at checkout.

Insurance is applied to every international order and cannot be removed. It protects you if your parcel is lost or damaged in transit, and it means we can lodge a claim and resolve the problem for you rather than leaving you out of pocket.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are worked out from your delivery address, the service you choose and the rates available from our courier partners at the time of purchase. Rates can change as courier prices, fuel surcharges and service coverage change. The price shown at checkout is the correct shipping cost for your order at that moment.

Couriers charge on either the actual weight of a parcel or its volumetric weight (the space it takes up), whichever is greater. Our shipping rates are calculated on this basis.

Delivery estimates shown at checkout are based on the service available for your address and the current courier network. These estimates differ from area to area and can change from time to time without notice. If a courier service becomes unavailable or is adjusted for your location, the options at checkout will reflect that.

Address Changes

Please make sure your delivery address is correct before you place your order. Once an order is placed, we may not be able to change the address before fulfilment begins. If you request an address change after your order has been processed or handed to the courier, this may create extra courier charges or delays, and those costs will be for your account.

If a parcel is returned, delayed or needs a second delivery attempt because the address was incomplete, incorrect or changed after shipment, any additional shipping costs will be for your account. If your parcel is already in transit, please contact us as soon as possible so we can advise on your options.

Failed Deliveries

If delivery cannot be completed because nobody is available at the address, because the address cannot be reached, or because the parcel is refused, the courier may charge for re-delivery, return or redirection. Where these costs are incurred, they may be passed on to you.

Shipping charges are not refundable once an order has been shipped, except where the law requires it or where we agree otherwise in writing.

We recommend giving a daytime delivery address wherever possible and checking your tracking updates regularly. This is the simplest way to avoid missed deliveries and unnecessary delays.

Special Trading Periods

During major promotions, sale periods and peak season, shipping and fulfilment may take longer than usual. In some cases, express shipping may be limited or unavailable during very busy trading periods. Any temporary changes to delivery timeframes or service availability will be shown at checkout or communicated on our site.
